Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Mill owner of Mukesh Mills had demolished in the year 2002, two ancient temples’ of Lord Shiva and Hanuman, situated in the premises of the mill; therefore, religious festivals celebrated earlier for many years, were also stopped. The local residents and mill workers have been demanding that the temples should be re-constructed. Demonstrations were held on 12th January for the same; but there has been no response from the Government. (Had there been a prayer-house of some non-Hindus and had they made such demand, the Government would have immediately taken cognizance; but the Government pays no heed to Hindus because of lack of unity among them. – Editor SP) Mr. Ramesh Ranapise, a member of Mukesh Mills workers Housing Society, informed that the ‘Pindi’ of Lord Shiva would be re-consecrated on 2nd March, the day of Mahashivaratri. Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav, the Mayor has ordered the Administration to conduct detailed inquiry and submit a report.
