Magh Shukla Chaturthi, Kaliyug Varsha 5112

Petition filed in Mumbai High Court

Mumbai: In Pune city, there are about 550 unauthorized temples. Most of these temples are on the land owned by the Municipal Corporation and many of them are on the roadsides creating hindrance for the traffic; therefore, such temples should be demolished. A petition to the above effect was filed by Mr. Sujeet Nanasaheb Sot, a Pune resident in Mumbai High Court. (Subhanshah Durgah is unauthorized; but Hindus keep quiet about that and file a petition for taking action against Hindu temples. The Government had diverted its route of Metro Railway for the sake of Qutub Minar. Of course, Hindu-haters won’t be able to realize these things ! – Editor SP)

The petition came up for hearing before the Bench of Justice P. B. Muzumdar and Justice Amjad Sayyad which has been adjourned till 7th February. It has been mentioned by the petitioner that ‘the information about unauthorized temples was sought from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) when the information about the number of unauthorized temples was furnished. A survey was undertaken in this connection in the year 2004; but PMC has not taken any action and giving some excuses even after lodging complaints.’
