Karwar (Karnataka) : There is an ancient 300 year old temple at Aamraayi village in Karwar district. The temple has been existence from times much before the roads have been made. Now, this temple has been listed for being demolished and a notice saying that it would be demolished on 31st Jan 2011 has been issued to the temple trustees. A memorandum was submitted to the District Commisioner as well as ACP, requesting that the temple should not be demolished. These officials heard the protestors and reassured them saying, "We will not act in a manner that will hurt the religious sentiments of devotees. We will discuss with all concerned and act only after coming to proper decisions. We can consider relocating the temple to another venue also."
