Wardha : Lokmanya Tilak started public celebration of Ganesh festival with the aim of uniting Hindus and creating awareness amongst people towards protection of nation. Now, though it is an independent nation, we are still under bondage with perverted western life style, causing harm to Hindus’ religious matters and increasing appeasement of minorities. Lack of knowledge about own Dharma, lack of ‘Dharmashikshan’ and unity has led to immense loss of Hindus. Hindus, though in majority, have lost value in this country; therefore, festival committees, which are engaged in activities in national interest, need to be united and help in taking this country on the path of virtuous governance, stated Shri. Shrikant Pisolkar, Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Vidarbha. HJS had organized a work-shop for office-bearers of public festival committees and he was speaking on the topic of ‘Contribution of public festival committees in establishment of Hindu Rashtra’.

Sou. Bhakti Chaudhari, Coordinator of HJS for Wardha said while explaining the purpose of holding such work-shop, “Lokmanya Tilak started public celebration of Ganesh festival from the year 1894; therefore, Hindus, who had drifted away from Dharma, could be united in large number and it helped in creating awareness amongst Hindus; leading to freedom of this country. Now in post-independence period, however, adoption of secularism is causing deterioration of Hindu Dharma. Unification of Hindus through public celebration of festivals is therefore, necessary to stop such deterioration and for prevention of attacks on Hindus.”

Sou. Bhargavi Kshirsagar of Sanatan Sanstha gave guidance on ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival. Group discussions were held during the work-shop. The program was started with lighting of lamp and blowing conch. Shri. Hitesh Nikhar did compeering of the program. The Participants were shown VCD on the subject ‘True facts and ideal manner of celebration of ‘Ganesh festival’.

Festival committees’ office-bearers spontaneously joined the group discussion held during work-shop. They decided to organize programs on matters related to nation and Dharma; instead of holding programs which are ‘Raja-Tama’ pre-dominant. They invited HJS members for programs held by temples or festival committees to create awareness about celebration of Ganesh festival in ideal manner. They have also decided to visit festival committees whose representatives could not attend the work-shop and explain to them the ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival.
