Mumbai: When a church was demolished in Karnataka, discussions were held all over the country as if all churches in the country were demolished. The secularists talked about it for 24 hours; but in Goa, 39 Hindu temples were damaged, incidents of robbery occurred in 125 temples; where were people like Mahesh Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, Tista Sethalwad, Medha Patkar etc.? There is nobody to present Hindus’ grievances; therefore, Hindus should unite and oppose destruction of temples. The above appeal was made by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat. In a program titled ‘Goa or Bangla Desh’ held on Sudarshan, a Hindi News channel, he took part in the discussions. (Congratulations to ‘Sudarshan’ news channel for talking about religious sentiments of Hindus ! Such news channels will only be ray of hope for Hindus ! – Editor SP) Mr. Abhay Vartak of Sanatan Sanstha and Mr. Niranjan Chodankar of HJS from Goa joined the discussions over phone.

HJS front to oppose destruction of temples

Mr. Shinde said, “Goa is considered to be a Christian State; but 65% of the population is Hindu even today. Hindus have to be alert about their temples because temples are the foundation of strength for Hindus. Hindus are tolerant and do not come on the streets; therefore, the Government is not bothered about them. HJS has started a big campaign against destruction of temples. Trustees and office bearers of 700 temples have been united and ‘Mandir Mahasangh’ has been set up. The Chief Minister of Goa formed a special police squad in this connection; but their report has not yet been submitted. Such situation can arise anywhere in the country. Hindus should forget their caste, creed and sect and unite as Hindus.”

Conspiracy to attack Hindus’ objects/ places of worship ! – Mr. Abhay Vartak

Mr. Vartak said, “’Dainik Tarun Bharat’s Goa edition has published that the Chief Minister of Goa has said that destruction of temples is a pre-planned conspiracy. Hindus have forgotten their sages and saints and their culture; therefore, mosques have been constructed at Mathura, Kashi, Ram-mandir and the trend is spreading in every village. 90,000 Hindus were killed in Kashmir; 4.5 lakhs Hindus had to leave Kashmir and search for a place all over the country to settle down; even then Hindus remained quiet. Therefore, now, this plot has been hatched to attack their places of worship. Today, the media does not have the honesty to even publish the news about such incidents. A person working as a reporter for 30 years in Maharashtra claimed that no such incidents were taking place. We gave them the proofs; but they did not publish them. Such reporters cannot do justice to Hindus; therefore, there is no alternative for Hindus but to take ‘Dharmashikshan’.

Some statements made by Mr. Ramesh Shinde

1. Ministers and police machinery in Goa is after Hindu Organisations to brand them as terrorists; but they have no time to find the culprits in idol-breaking and temple destruction cases.
2. If police can find ‘a hair of Hazarat (Hazarat ka baal)’, how can they not find the thieves destructing Hindu temples?
3. Riots take place in this country when a mosque, which is constructed by demolishing a Hindu temple by Babur, is demolished; but tolerant Hindus keep quiet even when many temples were demolished and idols were damaged.
4. Today’s Government levy tax on Hindus’ Amarnath pilgrimage whereas extend grants for Haj pilgrimage. When Amarnath pilgrims were killed, the Government did not give a single paisa to their relatives; but Rs. 5 lakhs are given to the relatives of those who pelted stones at our army men and relatives of terrorists. The Prime Minister of this country says, “Minority have first right to the national property.” How can one say that the Government believes in secularism?
