Robbery in the govt. managed ancient Shri Durgaaparameshvari temple built by Adi Shankaracharya at Soukuuru, Udupi, Karnataka


Soukuuru (Udupi, Karnataka) : While travelling from Kundapur to the famous shrine of Kollur Mukambika, one comes across the famous ancient Soukuuru Shri Durgaaparameshvari temple that had been built by Adi Shankaracharya. This temple has got a history of 1200 years. About 20 days ago, miscreants broke into the temple and have got away with 2 donation boxes. The investigative agencies have not made any headway in solving this case. The temple administration also displayed absolute disinterest about the incident. The secretary Mr. Rajesh Shetty said that a police complaint has been lodged in the local police station.
