Respect National Flag: HJS submits representation in Mumbai

Memorandum submitted at Tehsildar’s office, Mulund and Police Station, Ghatkopar

Mumbai: In terms of an order issued by the Central Home Ministry, use of plastic and paper is banned for making National Flags and badges. Maharashtra Government has also imposed ban on use of plastic National Flags vide its order and a circular issued about 3 years back; but implementation of this order has not yet effectively taken place. A memorandum was, therefore, submitted to Mr. Rajendra Borkar, Tehsildar, Mulund Office and Police Inspectors at Ghatkopar (East) and Ghatkopar (West) Police Stations by a delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).

Mr. Santosh Dubey and Mr. Vasant Mamarde, devout Hindus and members of HJS were present along with their 6 colleagues at Tehsildar’s office at Mulund that has Kurla to Mulund area under his jurisdiction. Mr. Borkar, Tehsildar said while accepting the memorandum that he would take action in areas that were under his jurisdiction and try to maintain sanctity of National Flag. He would also issue instructions to police and Government officials in this regard.”
