Nashik (Maharashtra): Naroshankar Temple in Nasik is a symbolic representation of history and culture. There is a bell hanging at the entrance of this temple. It has specific significance. Overexcited youth with a view to celebrate the New Year Eve had gathered in the temple and while shouting and merrymaking started ringing the bell so forcefully that it damaged the historic bell. (Hindus, blindly following the Western culture, messing around the holy place for demonic pleasure while celebrating so called New Year, are worthy of getting killed by terrorists ! – Editor SP)

The news was reported in the police station in Panchavati on 1st January in the morning. After making the inquiries the police handed over the cracked piece to the managing trustees of the temple. Devotees having great faith in the bell were furious about the incident.

Historical background of the bell in short and its importance

Naroshankar Rajebahaddar , Commander of Peshva in Nasik Province had lead the army in the war against Portuguese in Vasai and had won the war. The bell on the Church in Vasai weighing around 100 kg was brought from there and was placed in the above mentioned Shivmandir near river Godavari here as a symbol of victory. It was being rung as a warning bell at the time of floods.
