Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad (HVP) lodges complaint with Police Commissioner against Prof. K. S. Bhagawan for insulting Prabhu Shriram at Bengaluru

Bengaluru (Karnataka) : Professor K. S. Bhagawan from Mysuru has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad (HVP) has lodged a complaint on 28th September with the Police Commissioner here against the same. Advocates viz. Umashankar, Harsha Mutalik, Atma Hiremath and Doddamane were present on the occasion.

It has been stated in the complaint- ‘Professor Bhagawan had said in a program that Shriram had beheaded Shambhuka; had sent his pregnant wife to forest therefore, Rama is not God but a human being. Poet Valmiki has also not written about Rama as God. Rama was communalist; therefore, he beheaded Shambhuka, on advice of Brahmins.’ His statements have hurt our religious sentiments and legal action should be taken against him, was the demand made by HVP.

Prof. Bhagawan had insulted not only Hindus’ Deities Shriram, Shrikrushna on earlier occasions; but had also insulted Holy Scriptures such as ‘Bhagavat Geeta’ and ‘Ramayana’. A complaint was lodged against him even at that time but he was released by the Court after warning him against making any controversial statements.
