Dear Sir/Madam,

This clarification has reference to your email dated October 20th, with regards to our advertisement for Bingo! Mad Angles.

At the outset we would like to state that it has never been our intention to hurt the sentiments of any person, community or class in any of our advertisements, more so in the advertisement referred to in your email.

The central theme of the advertisements on our brand "Bingo!" has been harmless humour and the said advertisement is also based on the same. It was not intended to depict any person or any art in poor light. Any such assumption is, therefore, misplaced and unwarranted.

We would like to point out that the said advertisement is no longer being shown on Television.

We trust that our explanation is satisfactory and this matter will be treated as closed.

Sincerely,
Ravi Desai
Brand Group Manager – ITC Foods

Appeal to devout Hindus

In the advertisement of ITC Ltd.'s Bingo Mad Angles, there has been denigration of Hindu Saint who is lookalike of Baba Ramdev. The advt. also denigrates 'Yoga', integral part of Hinduism. In the advt., there is constant mockery of Hindu Saint and his art of 'Yoga'. It is duty of all Hindus worldwide to protest lawfully against it, so that ITC ltd. should apologise to all Hindus for hurting their religious sentiments and it should not also repeat such mistake in the future.
