Panvel (Maharashtra) :
Some miscreants and anti-Hindus are involved in malpractices like teasing women, forcibly collect money and misuse the funds so collected, hooliganism etc. due to lack of their knowledge about the science behind celebration of the festival. This destroys the sanctity of the festival.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) created awareness among people about such wrong doings on the occasion of ‘Gopal-kaalaa’. Mrs. Mandavi Bugade of HJS explained about the indecent dancing, drinking of liquor, throwing of water balloons at people  etc. and made an appeal to celebrate the ‘Janmashtami’ festival after understanding the significance of ‘Janmashtami’ and maintaining its sanctity.
