Good response to HJS’s National Flag campaign

HJS has been conducting the ‘Respect National Flag’ campaign for past eight years throughout India. This year this drive received very good received through various media. As a result from the government officials to the common citizens including the students many of them became aware that we have to Respect our National Flag and it is our first duty to protect the National Flag from the denigration. HJS conducted this drive successfully with support of local Hindu Organisations and political parties, various spiritual organisations and patriot citizen.

This drive included mainly give applications to the governmental officials, distributing palmplets, conducting lectures in schools and colleges, conducting lectures, educating the sellers, collecting the flags lying on the ground on an independence day, educating the masses through boards, plays and cable channel. Below is the breif report of the drive conducted in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Vidarbha and Marathawada.

Guidance over loudspeaker

‘Flex’ boards were displayed at 14 different public places at Worli, Bhandup, Vashi, Nerul, Koparkhairane, Borivali (W), Malad etc. to guide people to pay respect to ourNational Flag and National Song. Announcements in this respect were made even on the loudspeakers. The members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) later, collected the National Flags strewn on the roads and immersed them in flowing water.

Guidance at public places

Representatives of HJS conducted lectures at 8 places on how it is our duty to maintain sanctity of National Flag and stop its denigration. More than 250 people took the benefit of these lectures held at Mulund, Ghatkopar, Colaba, Sewree, Jogeshwari etc.

Guidance through a short play

A short play was staged by members of HJS at Branch No. 125 of Shiv Sena in Ghatkopar explaining the present condition of Dharma and how it will be after two years. Mr. Dattaram Gujar, former area-chief extended cooperation and Shiv Sainiks appealed to HJS members to continue to hold such enlightening programs even in future.

Awareness among people from Cable transmission

Cable operators like Bhavani Cable, Rajesh Cable, SPOD 18 cables were displaying footnotes on screen to pay respect to the National Flags and ban on plastic flags.                     

Black-boards and Flex used to educate people

26 ‘Flex’ Boards were displayed at various places like Andheri, Wadala, Worli, Airoli, Nerul, Vashi, Belapur, Koparkhairane, Sanpada, Juinagar enlightening people about banning plastic National Flags and lodging complaint with police against sellers of plastic flags. There were 50 such boards displayed at temples, schools, shops and other public places in areas like Airoli, Nerul, Koparkhairane, Vashi, Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Andheri, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, Borivali etc.

Boisar – HJS members explained to the sellers about denigration of National Flags and stopped the sale of such flags. They also collected the flags from sellers.

Guidance outside schools

Andheri – HJS undertook the drive of ‘Respect your National Flag’ outside ‘Gyankendra’ school at Four Bungalows between 8.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. As the students came out of the school donning flags on their uniforms after flag-hoisting, HJS members explained to them the matter. The students put the flags received by them in school in the boxes kept by HJS so as to avoid denigration. HJS members also explained to the parents, auto-rickshaw drivers, pedestrians, sellers of flags. Many realized that they would not be able to take care of flags later; therefore, they deposited the flags in boxes.

Thane, Dombivali – Announcements were made to draw people’s attention to the issue.

Poladpur (Raigad) – 20 child-seekers explained to the sellers about not using plastic national flags. 

Flag hoisting by Sumit Sagavekar of HJS at ‘Malhar Communications’, Jalgaon

Jalgaon – In the program organized at ‘Malhar Communications’, an advertising agency’s office, the flag hoisting was done by Mr. Sumit Sagavekar of HJS. Shri. Anand Malhar, the owner of the company broke a coconut near the flag-post before hoisting of the flag.
Shri. Sagvekar, in his guidance, created awareness among the audience of their being Indians. He said, “It is necessary to think about what I can do for the nation and can give to the Nation rather than what the Nation has given me. It is our national duty to condemn M F Husain who has drawn picture of nude Bharatmata.”

Gratitude offered to Motherland by HJS

Jalgaon – Gratitude was offered on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on Independence Day. The program was held at 5.00 p.m. on ‘Shivateertha’.

The dangers like terrorist activities, naxalism, bomb blasts etc. are looming over our Motherland. Even then, she is accepting us as her children and is constantly protecting us by remaining alert. We are, however, forgetting her; therefore, this program to express gratitude towards her has been organized, informed Shri. Sumit Sagavekar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Jalgaon. Thereafter, Mrs. Sanskruti Sagavekar explained the meaning of all 6 stanzas of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. All participants joined in singing Vande Mataram’ and the program ended with expressing gratitude to the Motherland. About 200 patriots attended the program. There was a demand to conduct ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes at two places.

Mr. MohanTiwari, area-chief, Shiv Sena : We did not know the meaning of ‘Vande Mataram’ till now; today we learnt it. While singing ‘Vande Mataram’, feeling of patriotism was awakened and said ‘Jai Bharat, Jai Hindustan, Ab na rahega Pakistan’ in my mind.

‘Janajagruti’ rally at Akola


Akola – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) organized a rally to enlighten people on prevention of denigration of National Flags. The rally started at 9.00 a.m. and was taken from Gandhi Jawahar Baug to Vasant Desai stadium. People were explained about not to sell or purchase plastic flags and to stop insult of National Flag. The members of HJS collected flags thrown on the roads in a box named as ‘Sanman Box’. The collected flags will be deposited in the District Collector’s Office. The drive undertaken by HJS was appreciated by the people and various organizations. Along with 40 HJS members, there were Shiv Sainiks from Sena colony, students from Commerce College and seekers of some spiritual organizations who took part in the rally.
