Karwar: HJS protests against Karnataka Temple Takeover Act

Karwar (Karnataka): Protest rally was held here to protest against the proposed temple take over act by Karnataka Govt. Rally was started by offering prarthana at feet of Gram-devata Sree Veer Maruti. Mr. Ashok Kudalkar. HJS conveyor Uttara Kannada briefed about the rally which then marched towards main streets of Karwar with display cards and  slogans. Addresing the people at Savitha hotel circle Mr. B.G. Mohan Secretary, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Uttara Kannada said that this act is against the Hindu Dharma. He said that Govt.. which failed to administrate all departments has no moral right to administrate temples. If Govt. takes  temple then there will be misuse of power and money. He dared government to take control of Mosques and Churches.

Procession moved and ended at the office of Deputy commissioner Uttara Kannada. Addressing the devout Hindus present for the rally, Mr. Ashok kudalkar of HJS explained demerits of temple take over act.  He quoted examples  of misuse of money and  power at  various  temples  in Karnataka, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala ,which are already taken over by the Govt. . He  appealed  to all Hindus  to unite together and strongly oppose the anti Hindu act of Govt..

Later memorandum was handed over to Asst. Collector  at DC office and he assured to hand it over to Govt. as early as possible. Mr. Vidyadhar Vernekar, Trustee, Maha devasthan Karwar, Mr. Prasad kamath Secretory of VHP,  Uttara Kannada, Mr. Sagar Kurdekar, Conveyor HJS Karwar were present on the occasion.

Nearly  about 50 devout Hindus including trustees of Temples participated at rally. Press and Media representatives were also present on the occasion .

Highlight: In spite of  heavy rain all where present upto end of rally.
