‘’Save Khadakvasala water reservoir’ drive’s 15th successful year by HJS

Congratulations to Hindus uniting for protection of Khadakvasala water reservoir ! 

Pune : Drive for protection of Khadakvasala water reservoir was successfully held on the day of ‘Dhulivandan’ on 13th March as service to society and for protection of environment. This drive is being undertaken since past 14 years. It was started with making prayer to ‘Jaldevata (Deity of Water)’. Volunteers of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), staff of Cummins India Company and local residents formed a human chain and were standing around the water reservoir from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. Young men and women who were coming to the water reservoir after playing with colours, were informed about the drive and explained the science and purpose of celebrating festivals like ‘Holi’, ‘Rangpanchami’ and ‘Dhulwad’.

1. District Collector Saurabh Rao took note of the drive undertaken for protection of water reservoir at Khadakvasala and imposed restrictions on people from going to the dam, in water at the water reservoir.

2. H.B.P. Vidyananda Maharaj and H.B.P. Vitthalananda Maharaj inaugurated the drive by breaking coconut.

3. Shri. Damodar Ramdasi, producer and director of a play titled ‘Yoddha Sanyasi : Vivekananda’, Shiv Sena’s Sou. Sunita Khandalkar, Shri. Dhondibhau Bhagavat from ‘Water Irrigation Department’, Shri. Pravin Naik of ‘Sanatan Sanstha’, Shri. Sachin Pasalkar, Sarpanch of ‘Gorhe Budruk’ and Shri. Krushnaji Patil of HJS were present on the occasion.

4. Many people including local residents extended support to the drive.

Highlights

1. A check-post was erected by police on road leading to Khadakvasala Dam and people trying to go towards the dam after playing with colours, were prohibited from going ahead.

2. Shri. Damodar Ramdasi remained at the venue even after inauguration.

3. Water Resources Department made announcements creating awareness towards the above drive, even through rickshaws.

4. Citizens commended HJS drive.

5. Members of ‘MLA Ramesh Vanjale Pratishthan’, ‘Shriram Boys’ Sanghatana’ joined the drive spontaneously.

6. H.B.P. Anant Maharaj Deshmukh, BJP’s Shri. Rajabhau Bhumkar, ‘Gorhe-Budruk’s former Dy. Sarpanch Shri. Sushant Khirid, BJP – Yuva Morcha’s Shri. Santosh Pardeshi also visited the venue of the drive.

7. Tehasildar Shri. Pisal was presented a copy of Sanatan’s book titled ‘Medicinal qualities of plants’ on the occasion.

Water is life. Causing water-pollution is like causing harm to human. Chemical colours are harmful to body. Purpose behind celebration of Hindus’ festivals should be learnt before celebrating the festivals. If you want to get painted with colours, let us get drowned in chanting and thoughts about Krushna, rather than in chemical colours. It will fulfill the purpose of human life.

Society should be protected from defects ! – H.B.P. Vitthalanand Maharaj

The true purpose behind celebrating festivals is vanishing and celebrations have remained only for enjoyment and following traditions. We have forgotten the power of Dharma. The drive undertaken by HJS is laudable and now, we have to start working with lot of energy for protection of society from defects.

Water has immense importance in Hindu Dharma. It is a carrier of energy. We Hindus are worshipers of the earth; therefore, it is our duty to protect this world.

Shri. Bhagavat said that HJS drive was commendable. Shri. Pravin Naik of Sanatan Sanstha said that anti-Hindus were misleading people whenever there are Hindus’ religious festivals; therefore, we should educate ourselves in matters related to Dharma and be united to foil attempts of people, who are against Hindu Dharma.

Shri. Prashant Pisal, Tehasildar of Haveli taluka paid visit to venue of the drive undertaken for protection of Khadakvasala water reservoir. He said, “HJS volunteers are sincerely working for past 14 years for the cause without expectations which is praiseworthy. The local administration will extend more help not just on paper but in effect.”
