Udupi (Karnataka): In the press meet at Udupi press club HJS spokesmen Mr. Ravindra Kamath said  “ Government is privatizing  its own departments. Then why Govt. is interested to take over the temples? In a secular country can a secular Govt. take over temple belongs to a hindu Dharma?  If we observe the status of the temples which are under the governance of the Govt. for last 12 years, we can see the damage caused like temple funds are getting used for non religious purposes, corruption by the temple officials, selling temple land to the private , no proper maintenance  of temples, negligence  about the security of temples etc. So we need to stop these issues. HJS is intensifying the awareness in all over the state about the effect of proposed act by Mr. RAMAJOISA which the Govt. is going to implement. Hence we decided to conduct a protest on 9-7-2010 near Udupi Service bus stand.”.

Later Mr. Madhukar Mudradi  , Sanchalak Sree Rama Sena Mangalore  said “If the Temple take over act is necessary then why not the Govt. is taking over the Mosques, Durgah and Churches.  Govt. is doing this for the sake of vote bank. Hence we need to oppose this.”

Totally 12 newspaper reporters & 7 media people where present for the press meet.
