Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Swa. Savarkar were great promoters of Marathi ! – Dr. Uday Dhuri, HJS
Sanpada – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had removed Urdu and Persian words from the official language for re-establishment of Hindu Rashtra. Swatantryaveer Savarkar had also recognized the same; therefore, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Swatantryaveer Savarkar are great promoters of Marathi, stated Dr. Uday Dhuri in a program held at a renowned college on the occasion of ‘Marathi Rajbhasha Din’.
Students had asked for permission from teachers to celebrate ‘Rajbhasha Din’ in college; however, permission was not granted; therefore, they decided to hold a program outside the college to celebrate this Day. Shri. Akshay Kale, a student of this college took initiative and planned the program. ‘Shri Shivapratishthan Hindustan’, Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Rashtra Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti participated in the program. A procession was taken out from Shivaji memorial, carrying saffron flags and it concluded at Belapur fort. The purpose behind such plan was to draw attention of the Government towards dilapidated condition of this historical fort, so that its proper care would be taken.
Shri. Mangesh Mhatre of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’ hoisted the flag and Shri. Lalchand Bhoir of Navi Mumbai Mandir Samiti garlanded a picture-frame of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; paying obeisance. Shri. Ashu Dalvi, a ‘Hindutvavadi’ also addressed the participants.
