Hindu devotional singer found dead with throat slit in Khulna

Police recovered the throat-slit body of a ‘kirtania’ (devotional singer) from Pithavog village in Rupsha upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Prafulla Biswas, 60, a resident of Pithabhog village.

Jiaul Hoque, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Rupsha Police Station, said Prafulla returned home after performing at a religious programme of the Hindu community on Monday night.

On Tuesday evening, the neighbours went to his house and found his throat-slit body lying on the floor.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
