Self-defence training work-shop held by HJS at Akola

Akola : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held one-day self-defence training work-shop on 8th January in which 50 young men and women participated.

The work-shop was inaugurated by a devout Hindu and retired engineer Shri. Parameshwar Rajput, Shri. Shrikant Pisolkar, Vidarbh Coordinator of HJS and Shri. Shreyas Pisolkar, trainer of HJS from Jalgaon by lighting lamp. Shri. Shrikant Pisolkar explained the purpose of holding such work-shop and Shri. Shreyas explained how self-defence training was need of the hour. Shri. Rajput spoke about how self-defence training was most essential for young girls by citing examples. Different types of exercises, judo-karate, use of chain and sticks etc were taught during the work-shop.

The concluding program was attended by Shri. Pappubhau Morwal, the President of ‘Youth Karate and Self Defence Club’ and a renowned advocate from Akola and Shri. Sanjay Thakur, owner of ‘Janaki Seeds’. Shri. Morwal said, “During my vacation, I shall meet ‘Hindutvavadi’ organizations, unite Hindus and help them to join HJS activities related to protection of nation and Dharma.”

Shri. Sanjay Thakur said, “The seriousness of self-defence was realized through the work-shop. We can join Dharma-karya activities and achieve success only when we undertake spiritual practice; therefore, everyday one should do ‘sadhana’. I will try to participate in every activity of HJS.”

Highlights

1. Fifteen persons from the work-shop showed interest in joining work-shop for trainer and conduct training classes later.

2. Twelve persons who had played through ‘Youth Karate and Self Defence Club’ at State-level participated in the work-shop. Shri. Manoj Ambere Sir, the Chief trainer of the Club and winner of international competitions followed up with the players and brought them to the work-shop. The players said, “Had we avoided participating in this work-shop, it would have been our big mistake. Here, we were in a different world.”

3. It has been decided to hold 6 training classes, one-day work-shop at Karanja and one class every fortnight for trainers.

4. Youth from 8 villages participated in the work-shop.

5. All arrangements such as hall, lunch, snacks, tea etc were done for free for the work-shop.
