Report on HJS activities during October 2016 in Goa State

1. Various organizations participating in RHA

On 9th October, demonstrations were staged under the auspices of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’ in Mapusa municipal market at Mapusa, Goa. Sanatan Sanstha, Ranaragini Division, ‘Marathi Rajbhasha Samiti’, ‘Gomantak Mandir and Dharmik Sanstha Mahasangh’, Shiv Sena, ‘Vitthal-Rukmini Devasthan Samiti’, patriotic organizations and ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch’ participated in the demonstrations. The issues taken up through demonstrations were – Stop throttling of people who are creating awareness amongst society against conversions by ‘Believers’ Sectarians; immediate imposition of ban on crackers and Marathi should be given the status of ‘Rajbhasha’.

2. HJS takes part in program organized on the occasion of Dassera

Shri Shantadurga Devasthan had organized ‘Ras-garba’ program on the occasion of Dassera at Kalangut. Shri. Jayesh Thali of HJS and a member of ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan- Kashmir ki Ouur’ movement was invited as the Chief Guest for inauguration of the program. Shri. Jayesh Thali created awareness amongst people by explaining to them the problems related to Kashmir. About 400 people including members of all Devasthan committees in and around Kalangut attended the program.

3. Rallies and meetings organized under ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan- Kashmir ki Ouur’ !

 A. Spontaneous response to ‘One speaker, one ‘sabha’ drive :

On 16th October, meeting was held at the residence of Shri. Rajkumar Desai, a devout Hindu from Parvari under ‘One speaker- One sabha’ drive. In this, Shri. Jayesh Thali, a member of ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan- Kashmir ki Ouur’ movement presented the topic. Shri. Rajkumar Desai and Shri. Uday Munj extended assistance in arranging this ‘sabha’. 4 devout Hindus also joined the ‘seva’ and later, they showed interest in holding such small meetings at 3 other places and holding a meeting on behalf of Ranaragini’ Division.

B. Panchayat of ‘Penha-de-France’ and ‘Pomburpa’ promise to pass resolution in support of Kashmiri Hindus:

Members of ‘Penha-de-France’ granted permission for holding ‘Janasanvad Sabha’ when contacted. They offered to make all other arrangements like ‘prachar-prasar’ of the ‘sabha’; requesting HJS to only come and give guidance in the ‘sabha’. They also showed interest in passing resolution on behalf of the ‘Panchayat’.

The subject of ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan- Kashmir ki Ouur’ was explained in Pomburpa Gram Panchayat. The Sarpanch and members of ‘Gram Panchayat’ responded positively and showed interest in passing resolution for rehabilitation of displaced Hindus from Kashmir.

C. Devout Hindus decide to meet on every Thursday at Mapusa :

The second meeting was held at Suhas Hotel, Mapusa on 18th October after ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan’ meeting in which Shri. Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson of HJS gave guidance to participants. Various issues such as increasing conversions in Goa; increasing dominance of fanatics in Mapusa market were also discussed and it was decided to meet on every Thursday to fight against these problems and to decide about direction to be given for creating awareness amongst people.

D. Active devout Hindus from Mapusa :

It has been decided by active devout Hindus to work together after attending ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan’s meeting held at Mapusa and in the third meeting, it was decided to meet members of all Devasthan Committees from Bardesh Taluka for preserving sanctity of temples. An appeal is going to be made to all members of temple committees to form code of conduct for the tourists visiting temples.

4. Spontaneous response by devout Hindus to take part in ‘Dharmakarya’

A. Advocates Mahesh Shetgaonkar and Atul Apte from Mapusa showed interest in joining activities related to protection of nation and Dharma when they were contacted by HJS volunteers.

B. Central School from Kurti, Ponda was approached when permission was granted to hold ‘Shaurya-Jagaran’ program in this school.

C. A representation was submitted by Ranaragini Division to Shri. Amar Kavalekar, the President of Shri Maharudra Sansthan, Mapusa demanding ban on visitors going to temple, wearing short clothes. Sou. Rajashree Gadekar of Ranaragini Division, Sou. Anjali Nayak and Sou. Sharvani Agarwadekar of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion. Shri. Amar Kavalekar responded positively to this demand. Similar representation was submitted on behalf of ‘Ranaragini’ Division even at Shri. Bhoomika Mandir, Shri Saibaba Mandir and Shri Siddheshwar Mandap.

5. Representation creating awareness on malpractices taking place during the tradition of ‘Narakasur-dahan’ observed in Diwali festival

A. HJS submitted representations to police and District Collector’s office at Kankon, Mapusa, Ponda, Panaji, Pedane etc demanding prevention of malpractices taking place while following the tradition of ‘Narakasur-dahan’.

B. All 6 ‘Panchayat’ in Madakai Constituency opposed to ‘Narakasura Competition’ this year and made an appeal to celebrate Diwali in traditional manner, giving importance to ‘puja’ of Bhagavan Shrikrushna. HJS congratulated them for the same. Lot of anger was expressed through ‘Narakasura’ picture against terrorist Pakistan and China which always supports that country.

C. Procession of Bhagavan Shrikrushna was taken out through Maye village on ‘Narak Chaturdashi’ in which local residents, members of HJS, Sanatan Sanstha, Adinath Sampradaya etc participated.

6. Drive to create awareness amongst people for boycotting Chinese products

A. HJS and other ‘Hindutvavadis’ created awareness amongst traders and consumers by going to markets for appealing them to boycott Chinese products. All traders responded positively to the drive and raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. About 500 citizens including traders and consumers were made aware of the issue.

B. On 21st October, patriotic citizens from Mapusa undertook a drive in local markets against use of Chinese products and making appeal to people to use indigenous products. Traders and consumers from Mapusa market responded positively on explaining the subject. Many passers-by stopped on the way to know more about this drive. HJS, Chinmaya Mission, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha, Ranaragini Division and many patriotic citizens took part in the drive. There were more than 50 people who joined this drive.

C. Similar drive was undertaken by patriotic citizens in Ponda and members of HJS, Chinmaya Mission, Ponda; devout Hindus from Mapusa, Sanatan Sanstha, Ranaragini and several patriotic citizens participated in the drive. A representation was submitted to renowned local grocers, R. V. Kudtarkar & Sons from Ponda. Shri. Kudtarkar said, “I will give the representation to all customers for reading. It is a commendable drive and I fully support the same.” A group of 21 persons spontaneously joined the drive and about 200 people were apprised of the subject.

D. Similar drive was undertaken even in markets of Pedane and around 1000 people were explained the subject.

E. HJS submitted representations to traders from Panaji markets.

About 12,000 people were made aware of this issue. The drive received good publicity in local newspapers, news channels and social media.

7. ‘Shaurya –jagaran’ Drive

A. On 14th October, Shri. Jayesh Thali of HJS spoke on ‘Shaurya-jagaran’ drive taken up under the movement ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan- Kashmir ki Ouur’. He presented this topic at Panaji bus stop where ‘Shri Durgamata-pujan’ had taken place. About 250 people were present on the occasion. The members of ‘Shri Durgamata Pujan Samiti’ were impressed with what was explained under the drive and they showed interest in visiting Sanatan’s ashram at Ramnathi.

B. On 26th October, ‘Shaurya-jagaran’ topic was explained to children from ‘Vidya Prabidhini Sankul’, Parvari of ‘Progress High School’, Panaji. Shri. Govind Chodankar of HJS explained the topic to students from 8th to 10thstandards.

8. HJS was invited to speak on the topic during Navaratri festival program organized by ‘Rajasthan Kshatriya Sangh’ from Margao, Kepe, Goa. Shri. Sangam Borkar gave guidance on ‘Navaratri’ festival.

An exhibition of books published by Sanatan Sanstha was held at the venue which received good response; as more than 200 devotees attended the program.

Meeting with Shiv Sena Chief Shri. Uddhav Thackeray

A meeting was held with ‘Hindutvavadis’ from Goa and Shiv Sena Chief Shri. Uddhav Thackeray, during his Goa tour. Shri. Jayesh Thali of HJS; Sou. Rajashree Gadekar of ‘Ranaragini’; Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi, State President of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’, Goa; Sou. Shubha Sawant of Sanatan Sanstha; Shri. Manoj Walke of Tradrs’ Union and Shri. Ankit Salgaonkar of ‘Bharatiya Sanskruti Raksha Manch’ attended the meeting. Shri. Uddhav Thackeray promised them that Shiv Sena and Shiv Sainiks would join the fight taken up by citizens of Goa against problems faced by Goa such as conversions by Believers’ Sectarians; increasing terror of fanatics in markets of Goa etc.
