Hindu Janjagruti Samiti burns down a statue of M.F. Hussain in a rally. \"Bandh\" gets 100% response

Parbhani, 28.12.2005

After protesting against M.F. Hussain’s blasphemy in a peaceful way, finally people came down on the roads in Parbhani today protesting aggressively against the painter’s maniacal artistry and Government’s demeaning neutrality to offense against Hindu sentiments. People closed down their shops spontaneously (without any action from HJS) as a Bandh was held in Parbhani. Parbhani Jilhadhikari(District Collector) was stunned as a huge mob of protesting Hindus led by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti stormed into his office demanding immediate action against Hussain and withdrawal of his BharatRatna and other National Awards. The main participating organisations in this protest rally were the VHP, BJP, Shiv Sena, Sanatan Sanstha, Rajasthani Mahila Sanstha, Shri Sampradaay and hundreds of proud Hindus. The rally started from Shivaji Chowk in Parbhani City at 10:30 AM sharp. While the rally was passing, merchants and shopkeepers closed their shops and participated spontaneously in it.

Hindu Janjagruti Samiti gives Government of India 7 days deadline

Shri Anant Pande of VHP remarked that if the Government of India did not take appropriate action against Hussain within 7 days time, we will undertake an even more aggressive campaign and Government will have to face the fury of people. Then Government will be solely responsible for whatever happens.

(The inefficient Government is not able to meet its own deadlines set by its own cabinet! Lets hope it meets this deadline set by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti. The only deadlines met by the Government are banning the books of Salman Rushdie and arresting seekers of Sanatan Prabhat. These were the only displays of efficiency by the Government of Maharashtra !)

"…. Else give Hussain to people" – Hindu Janjagruti Samiti

Shri Govind Bharadwaj, the President of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, Parbhani District said, "If the Government does not want to do justice to Hindus by arresting Hussain, give him to the Hindu Mob".

Mr. Shabbir Khan who is a muslim too was present in the rally.

Earlier, Shiv Sena activists at Cidco, Nanded burned down a statue representing M.F. Hussain on 21.12.2005 to demonstrate their protest against the painter.

Feedback :

1. Mr. Vicky Dhillon, 1st Year Student of BHMS : "Mujhe lagta hai Hussain ko pakadke dhona chahiye"(I feel Hussain should be caught and thrashed!)
2. Mr. Sanjay Shirfule, 2nd Year Student of BHMS: Hussain should be burnt alive!
3. A Hindu Police Officer at Nanded : Hussain should be burnt alive in his house itself!

Speaking to the press, Shri Ramesh Shinde, Maharashtra State spokesperson of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti said, "Will the Government take action against Hussain only after Hindus resort to violence and aggression ? So far, hundreds of Hindus have filed complaints in the Police station against the painter but no action has been taken against him. What is the Government waiting for ?"

Shri Dileep Khot, founder of the Shivgiri Seva Sangh said, "The Mahants and Saints of all Akhadas have taken note of what Hussain has done. They are all thinking in terms of aggressive campaigns against the Government who has not done anything so far."
