Agitation against anti-Shivaji NCERT at Dombivali

Dombivali (Maharashtra): The historical facts  pertaining to the founder of Hindavi Swarajya (Hindu Empire), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have been mentioned in just 5-6 lines in the history text book titled ‘Hamare Atit -2’ devised by the Central Government’s National Committee for Education, Research and Training (NCERT) for 7th standard whereas the history of cruel Muslim invaders have been glorified. On behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), strong demonstrations were staged at Dombivali (West) railway station against the above issue. Signatures of the Shivaji devotees were also collected on a representation to be submitted to the Chief Minister on the occasion.

The agitation began with garlanding the picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by the renowned astrologer Mr. Bhat. He said, “The situation in Maharashtra is like that of Jammu-Kashmir due to terrorists’ activities. In such situation, the students should be told the true history. Shri. Prasad Vadake of Dharmajagruti Sena said, “All Hindus should join this agitation to compel the Government to publish the true history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in golden letters in this text book.”  More than 100 devout Hindus were displaying various protest boards.
