Chennai: HJS conducts Dharmashikshan session at Personality Development Camp

Chennai: Three day residential camp was organized at Ahobila Mutt, Seliyur, Chennai. About 400 students from various schools such as G. V. Chetty Vishwa Hindu Vidyalaya, Adambakkam and Jai Gopal Garodia Vishwa Hindu Vidyalaya, West Mambalam had participated in this camp. Mrs. Uma Ravichandran, volunteer of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti explained the importance of Hindu Dharma in a Dharmashikshan Session.

The session covered the various aspects of Hindu Dharma such as science behind physical form of Lord Ganesh, importance of worshipping Lord Ganesh. The practical demonstration of various aspects such as Importance and spiritually correct method of inauguration of any ceremony or premises, correct method of greeting a person, A small video clipping on correct method of birthday celebration and spiritual implications of celebration of birthday as per western tradition of cutting cake etc was shown at this time. The program also included subtle experiment of comparison by of effects of lighting candle and ghee lamp. The session was concluded with chanting of various Sanskrut Shlokas to be recited as part of daily routine (Dincharya).

Highlights

•    The session was very interactive and students participated with relevant  questions. They were eagerly participating in answering the questions regarding the various Religious aspects.
•    Even the teachers appreciated the lectures and expressed that it was a learning experience for them as well.
•    Mr. Rajashekhar, a Professor of Music took a copy of the Sanskrit shlokas and website details of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti and mentioned that he would share this with all the schools he visits regularly.   
•    Ms. Uma, Vice Principal, G. V. Chetty Vishwa Hindu Vidyalaya expressed her appreciation for the session and suggested that a full day program can be conducted in future
