Pune : HJS’s drive to protect Khadakvasla water reservoir is a total success

Pune (Maharashtra): On the day of ‘Dhuli-vandan’ , a drive undertaken by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to protect the water reservoir at Khadakvasla was carried out successfully with the cooperation of police, administration and local residents.

The inauguration of this campaign was done by Mr. Satish Patil, the senior Police Inspector, Haveli Police Station. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr. Santosh Mate, the Sarpanch of Khadakvasla, Assistant Police Officer Mr. M. B. More, police constable Mr. Subhash Shinde, Mr. Sunil Ghanavat of HJS, Mr. Jaiguru Mate , a member of Gram-panchayat, Mr. Sunil Mate of MNS and Mr. Raj Yadav of Pratapgad Utsav Samiti etc. About 100 members of HJS took part in this drive.

From 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m., the members of HJS were appealing to the citizens against going in the water as they were smeared with colours.  The members were carrying placards to enlighten the citizens. This helped to control the indecent behavior of citizens and drinking of liquor etc. normally done on the day of ‘Dhulivandan’ and ‘Rang-Panchami’ days at this place.

Senior Police Inspector Mr. Satish Patil said, “This is a good campaign undertaken by HJS for purification of water.” Sarpanch Shri. Santosh Mate said, “HJS has been undertaking this drive for the past 9 years. The mission of HJS to preserve Hindu culture is laudable. Even the local residents participate in this drive.”
