Pune: Government officers take some decisions related to religious matters and thrust them upon citizens. Government officers have no knowledge of ‘Dharma-shaastra’; but ‘fatwas’ are issued again and again at Government and administrative levels, trampling ‘Dharma-shaastra’. Mockery is made of religious sentiments of Hindus, taking advantage of their tolerance. The Government should appoint persons with knowledge of Dharma and discuss matters related to religious festivals with them before taking any decisions. Hindus will not tolerate if their religious sentiments are constantly hurt, warned ‘Samarth-devotee’ ‘Pujya’ Sunil Chincholkar during a press conference held on 29th August, on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti at Patrakar Bhavan.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and so-called environmentalists along with pro (re)gressive factions force devotees to immerse their idols in artificial water tanks thus dissuading them from abiding by ‘Dharma-shaastra’. This year, there is addition in anti-Dharma drives by promoting immersion of idols in ammonium bicarbonate; besides, artificial water tanks and donation of idols. PMC has been promoting this option on large scale and in this background, the press conference was held. Shri. Parag Gokhale of HJS, Shri. Chandrashekhar Tandale of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Vikas Bhise an engineer (environment) were present on the occasion.

‘Pujya’ Chincholkar said that during ‘Ganeshotsav’, he has observed in countries visited by him like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah etc where Muslims are in majority; this festival is celebrated as per the science. Then why there was so much of confusion in ways of thinking in India. Shri. Chandrashekahr Tandale made an appeal to worship Shri Ganesh idols made with clay as per ‘Dharma-shaastra’ and immerse them in flowing water.

Intense agitation will be staged if decisions of immersion of idols in unscientific manner are not withdrawn ! – Parag Gokhale

Mayor and Commissioner should tender resignation !

1. Municipal Corporations which are not bothered about throwing all trash and dirt in rivers and canals throughout the year and polluting water, become very active as Ganeshotsav approaches and along with them, all modern-environmentalists lying in holes throughout the year, also start coming out.

2.‘Ganeshotsav means pollution’ is the strange equation presented for making farce of erecting artificial water tanks, involving vested interests with financial stakes worth millions of rupees. Pune-media had exposed their real ploy in which PMC collected all idols immersed in artificial water tanks, carried them in their garbage vans and finally threw them in river which amounts to sacrilege of the idols. It is a conspiracy to loot people in the name of pollution and defame Hindu Dharma so as to hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Mayor and Commissioner, hurting religious sentiments of Hindus, have no moral right to take decision on immersion of Shri Ganesh idols and they should render resignation for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.

3. This year PMC has taken a decision to use ammonium bicarbonate for dissolving idols at home in bucket. Instead of undertaking such new experiments, if PMC takes decision on making of idols only with clay as per ‘Dharma-shaastra’ and gives grant for the same, both the purposes will be served; but by taking unscientific decisions, attempts are made wavering Ganesh-devotees from abiding by Dharma.

4. PMC, which is promoting use of ammonium bicarbonate for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols now, may tomorrow take decision to even immerse dead bodies in chemicals claiming that cremation of bodies causes pollution.

5. Under RTI Act, information was obtained that every day, 17.70 crores litres of sewage water is directly let into rivers without any processing in Pune. Among 25 big cities in this State, every day, 2, 57, 17, 00, 000 litres of sewage water is let in river every day without any processing which causes 80% of water- borne diseases affecting 12, 00, 000 people. It is a fact. What has the municipal corporation done to prevent such pollution ?

6. This year, there has been adequate rainfall and all dams are full; still why objection is raised for immersions ? Instead of spending millions of rupees on ammonium bicarbonate and erection of artificial water tanks, PMC should extend grants to sculptors for making idols with clay.

7. PM Modi recently said in ‘Mann ki Baat’ program that use clay idols instead of PoP. It is therefore, expected that Municipal administration would respond positively to his appeal; but if PMC doesn’t change such unscientific decision hurting religious sentiments, it will have to face strong agitations by pro-Hindu organizations.

8. HJS has undertaken a drive for celebration of Ganeshotsav in ideal manner and those, who are interested in joining this drive, may contact on 8983335517.

Use of ammonium bicarbonate is hazardous ! – Vikas Bhise

Shri. Bhise exposes unscientific use of ammonium bicarbonate for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols

1. Shri Ganesh idol made of clay does not cause any kind of pollution. In fact, even Shri Ganesh idol made of PoP does not cause pollution.

2. Plaster of Paris (PoP) is made from gypsum. When gypsum is roasted and its water content is reduced, we get PoP. After immersion of idol, PoP again gets converted to gypsum which is considered as a component of soil.

3. If Shri Ganesh is immersed in ammonium bicarbonate liquid, it will form ammonium sulphate and sodium bicarbonate. Out of that although ammonium sulphate is a fertilizer, it is not suitable for Indian soil which is alkaline in nature besides causing pollution.

4. Pollution die to immersion of Shri Ganesh idols compared to water pollution due to sewage water is not even 0.01%.

5. Mayor had said that ammonium bicarbonate is so-bi-carb used in food which is half-truth. This chemical has become outdated since past few decades and now, baking powder and not ammonium bicarbonate is used in food items.

6. Ammonium bicarbonate being provided by PMC is of industrial grade and is harmful. Besides, after mixing it in water, what arrangements are going to be made for carrying it is also a question.

7. Using paper for making eco-friendly Shri Ganesh idols is most hazardous because Shri Ganesh idols made of paper cause maximum pollution.

8. Instead of such rigmarole created for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols, PMC administration should think of other ways based on ‘Dharma-shaastra’.

Tomorrow demonstrations by ‘Hindutvavadis’ in front of PMC building to protest

By taking decisions during the period of Ganesh festival which are contrary to Hindu ‘Dharma-shaastra’, PMC has hurt Hindus’ religious sentiments and on 31st August, ‘Hindutvavadis’ are going to stage demonstrations in front of PMC’s building between 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. An appeal has therefore, been made to Hindus to join the demonstrations in large numbers.
