Prathiba, Love Jihad victim opted death over veil

Thrissur (Kerala): Since the second verdict of Kerala High Court toppling it’s own judgement about the presence of Love Jihad , Medias which took a bold stand to expose this temporarily stopped campaigning against it. The investigations directed by court against thousands of Love Jihad incidents also are now in cold storage.

The Suicide of Parthiba (23) (Converted to Diya Firos few days before suicide) following the torture of her Husband and his family due to her opposition to get converted to Islam pose a serious question to our society. How long can we ignore this evil and leave our girls for the mercy of Jihadis?

Prathiba daughter of Prabhakaran fell in the trap of Love Jihad laid by Jihadi Romeo Firos son of Haneefa. Prathiba eloped with Firos , the Jihadi Romeo in February 2005. The couple were reported in court following the complaint filed by Prathiba’s family. Infront of court Firoz told that he genuinely loves her and will not force her to convert. Since then she was not allowed to contact her family.

After couple of years Firoz and his family started to pressurize her to get converted to Islam and also asked her to contact her family to demand dowry from her home. She was taken to Islamic conversion centre in Ponnani , but later bought back following stiff opposition from her. Later she was converted to Islam by bringing a Moulavi to home. She was forced to wear veil and to perform Islamic prayer.Finally she decided to end her life as for her living the life of as a Muslim woman was same as living the life of a corpse.

She had send her diary to her family which has been now handed over to Police. But as usual Police is showing their negligent attitude. Now Firoz and his family is trying to take bail prior to any arrest.
