Mumbai : Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production & Curriculum Research i.e. Bal Bharati has published in its 4th standard book on Shivachhatrapati (Regional study- Part 2) a misleading picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj meeting Afzal Khan with open arms. Such controversial picture should be changed with picture exhibiting the historical valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj i.e. slaying of Afzal Khan. If action is not taken within 7 days, intense agitations will be staged all over the State, was the warning given by Shivaji-patrons and pro-Hindu organizations during a press conference. (India is the only country where brilliant history of majority of population is suppressed to appease minorities ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

The press conference held at ‘Mumbai Patrakar Sangh’ was attended by Shri. Abhay Vartak, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Dr. Uday Dhuri, spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Mumbai, Shri. Rajendra Sawant, President of ‘Raigad Sanvardhan Pratishthan’, Shri. Balwantrao Dalvi, Mumbai Coordinator of ‘Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan’ and Shri. Prabhakar Bhosale, President ‘Shri. Shivakarya Pratishthan’ etc.

Views expressed by dignitaries during the press conference !

Shivpratishthan to fight with all its might against distorted history ! – Balwantrao Dalvi, Shivpratishthan Hindustan

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had worn ‘Wagh-nakh’ in his left hand, then how could Maharaj go only to meet ? Why the secular organizations are interfering in history of Shivaji Maharaj ? Students are taught distorted history today. Shivpratishthan Hindustan will fight against this issue with all its might.

For whose appeasement such conspiracy of insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is hatched ? – Rajendra Sawant, Raigad Sanvardhan Pratishthan

Insult of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a part of international conspiracy. For whose appeasement are such things going on ? The new Government took over power using the name of Shivaraya. Who is going to think about our sentiments ? Such issues are taken note of only because of initiative taken by all pro-Hindu organizations.

Full support to the drive ! – Prabhakar Bhosale, Shivakarya Pratishthan, Vikhroli

Oppression of women would have been stopped, had true history of Shivaji Maharaj was learnt. Today, there is distortion of history. The drive started by all Shivaji-patrons will have our full support.

Wrong ‘sanskars’ are inculcated in children through pictures published in books ! – Abhay Vartak, spokesperson, Sanatan Sanstha

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the founder of ‘Hindvi Swaraj’. We are indebted to him. We are living as Hindus only because of him; but today, he is branded as secular. Pictures published in text books are creating wrong ‘sanskars’ in children. Picture showing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj pulling out guts of Afzal Khan should be displayed at ‘Mantralaya’. One will have to bow before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj if one wants to stay in India. We should realize that there is an incident of pulling guts in the biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and not of his meeting Afzal Khan with open arms.

‘Hindutvavadi’ Government should do what is expected by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ! – Dr. Uday Dhuri, HJS

It is so unfortunate that we have to hold such press conference in connection with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He is a symbol of nation’s pride; therefore, book insulting him should be immediately withdrawn and action should be taken against persons distorting history. ‘Hindutvavadi’ Government should do what is expected by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Pune : Bal Bharati i.e. Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production & Curriculum Research has published in its 4th standard book on Shivachhatrapati (Regional study- Part 2) a misleading picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj meeting Afzal Khan with open arms. Chhatrapati Shivaraya created brave history by pulling out guts of Afzal Khan using guerilla tactics; but the picture based on that incident has been removed from the school curriculum. It is a conspiracy to suppress true history in the name of secularism. Within 7 days, necessary changes should be carried out in text book; by inclusion of picture depicting Afzal Khan’s slaying and related history in the present curriculum. Action should be taken against the persons responsible for distortion of history and the Bureau of textbook production should be dissolved; else intense agitations would be staged. The above warning has been given by Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, Maharashtra State spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), along with history-lovers and Shivaji-patrons present on the occasion. On 25th July, HJS and other pro-Hindu organizations submitted a representation to Education Department’s Joint Director Sunil Chavan and Special Officer of history and Civic Science, Mogal Jadhav. Persons including picture of meeting with Afzal Khan in 4th standard text book were presented pictures of Afzal Khan’s slaying, as a mark of protest. Officers promised to immediately forward a report on the representation to higher authorities, while accepting the representation.

Change books but not history ! – Pandit Modak

Bureau of text books production may change text books but should not distort true history. Slaying of Afzal Khan is one of the major events in life-history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; so the present picture should be withdrawn and picture showing Afzal Khan’s slaying should be included; else intense agitations would be staged all over the State. Are students going to be taught that Afzal Khan was killed, not due to pulling out his guts; but by tickling him ?

Keeping students away from true history would not be tolerated ! – Advocate Rajabhau Deshpande

Ploy to teach wrong history to future generation by keeping students away from true history will not be tolerated. We condemn such things. We shall stage agitations till true history is not taught.

Shiv Sena’s Sou. Khandalkar and Sou. Shah also warned to come on streets if text books were not changed.
