Mumbai: Shiv Sena Chief Mr. Balasaheb Thackeray celebrated his 83rd birthday on 23rd January 2010. On this occasion, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) extended greetings to him. On reading the greetings, he blessed the mission of HJS and expressed a wish to meet the members of HJS.

The letter extending greetings to the Shiv Sena Chief was faxed by Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad. The Shiv Sena Chief was also presented a copy of Sanatan ‘Panchang (Almanac)’ and a book titled ‘Marathi che Marekari (Killers of Marathi)’. The letter faxed to him was read out to him by his secretary Mr. Narendra Kore on which the Sena Chief said, “Let the mission of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti be always successful. HJS will always have our blessings.” He also asked Shri. Kore to send a message that he would meet HJS members soon on regaining health.

Gist of the letter sent to the Shiv Sena Chief

‘Post-Independence period, you are the only one who has nurtured fiery ‘HInduttva’. Hindus were protected during the riots of 1993 only because of you. After the attack on Mumbai on 26/11, you only could openly demand that our army should enter Pakistan. Among all the present Indian leaders, only the Shiv Sena Chief can show the spirit to demand execution of Mohammad Afzal and Kasab in the open. The decision of Australian players against playing in India shows the awe in the order of the Shiv Sena Chief. We pray to God for granting a long life to such Shiv Sena Chief and our greetings to him on his birthday !’
