Jaipur : After making arrangements to distribute the copies of Bhagavad Gita for libraries of more than 13,000 government schools in Rajasthan, the BJP run Govt. in the state is now planning to introduce the philosophy and management strategies derived from Gita, Arthshatra, Ramayana and Mahabharata for the post graduate level students of Commerce and Management.

The unique economic and strategic developmental policies in ancient Indian scriptures would now be part of curriculum for postgraduate courses like commerce and management in colleges affiliated to the Rajasthan University.

Officials of Rajasthan University told HENB, “students would get management lessons derived from Lord Krishna’s conversation with Arjuna before the Kurukshetra battle, and Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana with the help of vanara sena (army of monkeys), the commoners from the hills and forests”.

The official ment to say that ‘War Song Gita’ has the essence of life to win over any circumstantial battle around us. And Ramayana has the essence of  optimum sacrifice of the king for the highest benefits for the citizen, also it preaches the message of unification of all including the marginals for a victory against any social evil. Explaining Artthshastra, the official upheld its sagacity in the field of humanities, economics, politics and public administration.

“Lord Krishna has beautifully explained the concept of division of labour, motivation, authority, responsibility, leadership qualities, human nature and behavioral changes” said Naveen Mathur, who heads the RU’s panel for curriculum revision.

University officials said revisions in the curriculum are part of its efforts to “Indianise” higher education on the basis of ancient wisdom and modern scientific vision.

Earlier, Education Minister Vasudev Devnani said that the process of Gita distribution in school libraries had already started.

“A Mumbai-based trust gave a proposal to provide the holy book in schools, which was accepted and now the Bhagwad Geeta will be made available in 13,401 schools across the state,” Sunita Chawala, Assistant Director of the education department said.

She said the order was issued by the government recently to that effect.

On a ‘Geeta Jayanti’ function in December last year, Vasudev Devnani had announced to provide the copies of Geeta in government schools for building up the individual and national character on the basis of ‘spiritual patriotism’.
