In the Marathi daily newspaper ‘Loksatta’, a supplement for kids named ‘Balrang’ has been published with its issue dated 27th August 2006. On the front page of the said supplement, Sri Ganesh has been shown wearing a school uniform. In this picture, like a school going child, Sri Ganesh has been shown carrying a water bottle, school bag on his back and displaying an identity card on his shirt pocket. Loksatta has hurt feelings of thousands of devotees by personifying Sri Ganesh as a child. The ‘carrier (vahan)’ of Sri Ganesh i.e. mouse has also been shown as a school boy riding a cycle.

Similarly on page 5 of the supplement, a perverted picture of Sri Ganesh has been drawn with the help of vegetables. An appeal has also been made to children to draw Sri Ganesh in various forms. In the same issue, a conversation between Sri Ganesh and His mouse has been published making mockery of Ganesh festival.
