Chennai : HJS members meet Mr. Vedantham of VHP

Chennai: A delegation of members from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Chennai comprising of Mr. Kashinath Shetti, Mrs. Rupa Shetti and Mrs. Uma Ravichandran along with Mr. V. Sundaram, Retd. IAS Officer and Editor, News Today Paper met Mr. Vedantham at Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Office, T-Nagar in Chennai recently.

Mr. Sundaram introduced all the members to Mr. Vedantham and briefed him about Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. He explained in detail about the misconcepts spread by media to malign the name of the Sanstha and the truth behind Goa bomb blasts. Mr. Sundaram presented him various granths of the Sanstha, explaining the contents of each and every granth, and  a calendar of year 2010. He also requested Mr. Vedantham ,on behalf of Sanstha to assist in bringing out the Panchang in Tamil.

At the behest of Mr. Vedantham, who wanted to know more about the birth of the Samiti and its activities, Mrs. Uma told the objectives of the Samiti, how it was formed, and showed a video clipping of how Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha is conducted.  Mr. Vedantham, with his vast experience in the field work of VHP shared some of his views as to how we can do the field work effectively. He told that while most of the Hindu Organisations are concentrating in urban areas very few go to the rural. He insisted the necessity to reach the ordinary village folks in order to stop the conversion taking place in Tamilnadu at a rapid rate. He also suggested that we have to use a varied different approach. Mr. Kashinath explained the difficulties encountered  when doing Dharma Karya under an adverse, anti-Hindu Government in Tamilnadu. Mr. Vedantham told that for that we can compromise a little in our way of working in order to reach our objective. Our concentration should be on the goal rather than the way to reach it.

He assured to extend his co-operation so that both the Organisations can work together in co-ordination and also agreed to participate in the forthcoming Dharma Sabhas.
