Mumbai : Various scams have been committed by Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti (PMDS) and that too on a very large scale. The then officers working on PMDS committee are presently posted in different departments of the State Government; therefore, there is delay in completing inquiry but inquiry into the scams is being conducted speedily. Stringent action will be taken on receipt of report and the State Government has no intention of shielding any guilty person, replied State Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadanvis on a notice given by MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar of Shiv Sena elected from Kolhapur, during Assembly session.

Shri Mahalakshmi Devasthan worshipped all over Maharashtra and which is one of the 3 and half ‘Shakti-peethas’; so also its ‘Kul-daivat’ Shri Jyotiba are two of 3067 temples managed by PMDS. Hindu Vidhidnya Parishada (HVP) exposed huge scams committed by PMDS. Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar, Shiv Sena- MLA from Kolhapur had raised a query in April 2015 during State Assembly session demanding stringent action against the guilty. Consequently, Chief Minister, Shri. Devendra Fadanvis had promised to conduct in-depth inquiry through a special investigation squad under State Crime Investigations Department but even after one year, no information was given on the progress of investigations or about any arrests or taking any action in this case. On 31st March therefore, Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar, Shiv Sena-MLA once again strongly presented query on PMDS’s scams; while talking about Shri Nath Devasthan in Atpadi taluka, District Sangli.

Shri. Kshirsagar said, “PMDS has committed huge scams involving land, ornaments offered in temples by devotees and other matters. The CM had promised one year back when the same issue was presented in State Assembly session to conduct inquiry and take action. Nothing has been disclosed about the outcome of inquiry and what action has been taken against any one so far. When will the State Government receive report on inquiry?” The CM then gave the above answer.

Inquiry about illegal sale of land of Devasthans in Sangli has been going on under Charity Commissioner ! – CM

It has been brought forth that land belonging to Shri Nath Devasthan at Dighanchi, Atpadi Taluka in Sangli district has been illegally sold under fake documents and inquiry is going on through Charity Commissioner. Action will be taken as soon as report in that case is received, informed CM Shri. Fadanvis on 31st March. NCP’s MLA Hanumant Dolas and Shashikant Shinde etc. had presented the issue.
