Pune : HJS drive gets 100% success to protect Khadakvasala water reservoir

Cummins India Ltd. and students of Abhinav College participate in the drive

Pune : Drive undertaken every year by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for protection of Khadakvasala water reservoir achieved total success even this year. Not a single person smeared with colours went into the water reservoir on the day of ‘Dhulivandan’. Citizens visiting the place praised the drive. Activists of HJS made a human chain surrounding the water reservoir and did not let anyone inside. HJS has been undertaking such drive for past 14 years.

Maharashtra is hit with severe famine this year. It is therefore, a social offence to spoil and pollute water. The drive was undertaken to see that water reservoir that supplies water to Pune city should remain free from pollution. Activists participating in this drive made human chain around the water reservoir. Awareness was created amongst the youth members going towards the reservoir and boards were displayed by activists on the topic, from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
