Rally to enlighten voters

Pune (Maharashtra):  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a rally in Pune through which it tried to create awareness among people towards exercise of their right to vote. Our Constitution has conferred upon every citizen, right to cast his invaluable vote and everyone should exercise that right as one’s duty towards nation. Holiday declared by the Government should not be used for enjoyment but they should have interest of our country at heart and must exercise their right. The above appeal was made in the rally of HJS. The rally was taken from Phule Market to Sree Kasaba Ganapati Temple.

The rally began at 5.00 p.m. with performing puja of ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ and breaking of coconut by Shri. Suryakant Pathak, a Director, ‘Grahak Peth’, from the statue of Lokmanya Tilak. Thereafter, members of HJS enacted a road show titled ‘Matadar Raajaa Jaagaa Ho (Wake up Voter, you are a king) !’ The voters were advised to carry some proof of identity with them. Less than 60% voters have cast their votes in the first leg of voting in various States; but in the next stages, there should be 100% voting, appealed members of HJS who took part in the rally. The rally was taken from Tilak statue to Sree Kasaba Ganapati Temple via Shaniwar Chowk, Bajirao Rastaa, Vishrambaug Wada, Appa Balawant Chowk and Shaniwar Wada and ended with singing of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’. About 150 HJS members participated in the rally.

Participants were carrying different banners to educate people like ‘This day is not meant for enjoyment but for voting’, ‘We must think about welfare of the nation and exercise our right to vote’, ‘Righteous ruler will be elected provided subjects are alert’ etc.

People appreciated HJS campaign to create awareness among voters; else they do not elect the right candidate
