Akola (Maharashtra): In the curriculum of National Curriculum Institute of Research and Training (N.C.E.R.T.) most of the pages are referring to Mughal Kings; but very less information is given in the book regarding Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who had fought against them continuously. Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) has given a representation to the Collector of Akola, demanding an action from the government that by taking cognizance of this fact it should change it immediately.

Many times the History of Bharat has been publish in a distorted form. In the History book of 7th std. out of 154 pages most are used to give the information about the Mogul attackers on Hindustan. Whereas there the total information about Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who had established a Hindavi Swarajya after giving a tough fight against the Moguls is given in hardly 6 lines. Hindus are hurt thereby.

Mahatma Gandhi and Lokmanya Tilak are also insulted in the 10th std. History book. HJS had brought this too to the notice of Government; but in vain so far! In addition to this HJS has demanded submitting a representation to the Collector that the curriculum at the Centre and at the State level had to be changed immediately. Shri. Anil Dani, President of Utkranti Ganeh Mandal, Shri. Vasant Joshi, and others of HJS, Shri. Dhiraj Raut, Sou. Shurati Bhat, Sou. Joshi of Sanatan Sanstha were present while giving the representation. They also expressed good wishes for ‘Gudhipadva’.
