32 complaints filed against M F Hussain in Goa

Panaji: Thirty-two complaints have been filed against noted painter M F Hussain at various police stations in Goa, Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane today said.

The complaints pertained to alleged insult of Hindu deities through his paintings, he said.

"Of these, 30 cases have been transferred to crime branch for further action.

However, no FIR in these complaints have been registered at any of the police stations in Goa in view of the matter being sub-judice before High Court and Supreme Court," Rane said in his written reply to a question tabled by leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar in the assembly.
