Hindu organizations threaten to file case if action is not taken against concerned

Pune (Maharashtra): ‘DNA’ has published news about an enraging incident that took place at ‘Sangam Ghat’. While re-immersing Sree Ganesha idols earlier immersed in artificial water tanks built by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), workers of PMC have just thrown the remnants of about 4500 idols at the banks of the river. (Idols immersed in the artificial water tanks were to be re-immersed as per science according to policy of PMC; but the unrighteous PMC has hurt religious sentiments of all Hindus by not following its own rules and re-immersing the idols in such improper manner. Hindus must, therefore, oppose the very concept of artificial water tanks – Editor) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and many pro-Hindu organizations so also few municipal councillors from PMC have condemned PMC and warned that case would be filed against Municipal Commissioner under article 295 (A) of Indian Penal Code for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus if action is not taken against the concerned persons within a week. A representation to the above effect has been submitted to Shri. Umakant Dangat, the additional Municipal Commissioner by a delegation. Shri. Dangat assured the delegation that necessary action would be taken against the concerned after discussing the matter with all regional commissioners. In a press conference held later, the above information was given by Shri. Girish Dhumal of HJS and Shri. Vidyadhar Nargolkar of Swatantryaveer Sawarkar Smruti Pratihthan.

PMC put forth the concept of artificial water tanks giving reasons of pollution of river water; but it has been proved every year that it does not have proper machinery to re-immerse the remnants of immersed Ganesha idols. If PMC is going to immerse idols in such manner then what is the necessity to build artificial water tanks. A demand is therefore, made that henceforth, Ganesha idols should be immersed in the presence of municipal councillors and other eminenet personalities from the area. The delegation included Shri. Manish Jadhav of Matoshree Pratishthan, Shri. Jagadish bhai Kanoj of Yoga Vedanta Samiti, Shri. Gajanan Kerkar of Hindu Mahasabha, Shri. Uday Kamble of BJP –youth wing, Shri. Rajendra Palave of Shri. Shiva Pratishthan, Shri. Samir Nikam of Mauli seva Pratishthan, Shri. Hemant Shinde of Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Surendra Mahajan of HJS etc. The representation was also signed by S/Shri. Anil Shirole, Vishnu Harihar, Sunil Tingare, Shrikant Patil to show their support.
