PMDS Scam : ‘Complete all procedure within 3 months and stringently punish the concerned’

Press conference held by Action Committee at Kolhapur

Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyvasthapan Samiti (Vyavasthapan Samiti) manages 3067 temples including the famous Shri. Mahalakshmi Mandir, Sri-kshetra Jyotiba and temples in Sangli, Kolhapur and Sindhu-durga districts.

The State Chief Minister announced on 8th April in Legislative Assembly about conducting inquiry through State Investigation Department, into misappropriation of funds by the Vyavasthapan Samiti; but all necessary procedure should be completed within 3 months and the guilty should be stringently punished. The movement undertaken by the Committee will, however, go on till action is taken against every guilty person.

The above information was given by Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the spokesperson of the Action Committee fighting against corruption and the Convener of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Maharashtra, on 9th April during a press conference held at ‘Shahu Smarak’ Kolhapur.

Shri. Sambhaji Salunkhe, the District-President of Bajarang Dal, its city-Chief Shri. Mahesh Ursal, ‘Hindu Ekata Andolan’s District President Shri. Chandrakant Barale, Shiv Sena’s dy. City-Chief Shri. Shivajirao Jadhav (Maharaj), its Karveer Taluka- Chief Shri. Raju Yadav, Dy. District-Chief Shri. Sambhaji Bhokare, Shri. Uday Bhosale and Shri. Kishore Ghatge were present on the occasion.

Shri. Ghanavat said, “The special squad of State Investigation Department, set up for unearthing corruption should also conduct inquiry into the then District Collector. Investigation should even be conducted to find reasons for not taking any action so far despite submission of sufficient proofs by the Action Committee. On behalf of the action Committee, I thank all the organizations, devout devotees of the Goddess, elected representatives and media for their participation.”

Shri. Sambhaji Salunkhe said, “The Action Committee staged such major movement; still the then District Collector took no notice of the same. District Collector Rajaram Mane had boasted that many one-day demonstrations are staged and forgotten; but the Chief Minister has appointed an inquiry committee owing to the agitation staged by the Action Committee.” Shri. Mahesh Ursal said, “Now, the Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti should be immediately dissolved.”
