Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the government’s decision to include ‘Sholakas’ of Bhagwad Gita in the school curriculum will “give right direction to the society.”

“There is no education without culture, and this spiritual book would give right direction to the society,” Khattar said while speaking at the 14th state-level meeting of Bharat Vikas Parishad of Haryana.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister said that all the 90 MLAs of the state would adopt one village each on the pattern of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, and these villages would be developed into Adarsh villages. He appealed to the MLAs to make their contribution to the scheme.

“The entire state would be developed without any bias and development works would be carried out in keeping with the ‘Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas’ slogan given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said. He further said the state government would adhere to transparent and graft-free governance.

“Though the pace of development is slow we are moving in the right direction and soon the pace of development would pick up,” he said.

On his party’s membership drive, he said the total number of members of BJP in the state had crossed 25 lakh, and the target is to achieve membership of 10 crore members in the country.
