HJS submits representation to Dy. District Collector, Pedane (Goa)

Pedane (Goa) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted a representation to Shri. Narayan Gad, Dy. District Collector, Pedane Taluka demanding ideal celebration of Holi festival by preventing malpractices happening on the occasion.

The representation was submitted on 4th March y HJS members, Shri. Baji Parab, Shri. Shankar Parab and Sou. Asha Parab. A copy of the representation has also been submitted to Pedane police station.

It has been stated in the representation that earlier, Holi festival used to be celebrated in traditional manner; but now, many wrong things like forcefully collecting donations, throwing balloons filled with dirty water, cutting of trees, teasing girls etc. are happening which are not only bad from viewpoint of maintaining law and order but also against the Dharma.

Festivals, when celebrated as per science, result in spiritual benefits for all; therefore, police should patrol places where wrong things are likely to take place, stringently punish those collecting donations forcefully and awareness can be created through different media. HJS has been creating awareness towards ideal manner of celebrating Holi festival by displaying posters giving information on this festival, distributing handbills on the subject, organizing lectures and quiz in educational institutes etc.
