Mapusa : HJS appeals to Dy. Collector to take steps to stop malpractices during Holi

Mapusa (Goa) : Hindu Janajagruti Samit’s (HJS) delegation appealed, through  a memorandum to the DyCollector of Mapusa Mr. Khorjuvekar to take steps to stop malpractices occurring during Holi festival to celebrate Holi in a an ideal traditional way.

It is mentioned in the memorandum that now malpractices like, extracting money from vehicle owners by putting a rope across the road, throwing balloons full of dirty water on the vehicles, cutting trees belonging to others, creating law and order situation by teasing girls etc. are on the rampant. They are against Dharma. Hence HJS demands in order to let all get spiritual benefit from celebrating Holi as per scriptures, measures like arranging police patrolling in the sensitive areas, giving severe punishments to extortionists, creating awareness among the public through giving publicity in the media, should be undertaken by the administration
