Republic Day celebrated as per Hindu calendar

Dicholi (Goa): In the newspaper ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, there was an appeal made to people to understand the importance of a ‘tithi’ for celebrating any festival i.e. the day as per Hindu calendar as against celebrating some ‘Days’ in accordance with English calendar. On behalf of RSS, Republic Day was celebrated here on 14th February as per the ‘tithi’ i.e. Magh Shukla Ashtami, the 8th day in the first fortnight of the month of ‘Magh’. Shri. Dattaram Harmalkar, the ‘shakha’-pramukh of RSS appealed to people for celebration of Republic Day as per Hindu calendar. He said further that we should stop aping Westerners and follow our culture.

The program began with performing puja of an idol of ‘Bharatmata’. The program was attended by Shri. Mukesh Hobale, Circle secretary of RSS, besides, other members of RSS and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
