Police grant permission to Modi felicitation function at last!

Mumbai : At last the police today granted permission to the felicitation function of the three-time chief minister of Gujarat, Shri. Narendra Modi at the Shiv-Teertha in Mumbai. The BJP workers were up in arms against the police for refusing the permission and were planning to stage strong demonstrations at the Shivaji Park police station; the agitation has been called off shortly after the police conveyed their agreement to give permission. (The police who force the workers of pro-Hindu parties to launch agitation for getting permission for the functions of their leaders, however, care so much for the Muslims that they do not have to agitate for anything! – Editor)

A question mark was looming large on the function of Modi to be held on 20th January because of lack of coordination between the state’s general administration department, public works department and home department.  Had the permission been denied, the BJP had decided to hold the function at any cost. As a result, the was an air of clash between BJP and state government. However, after the discussion that took place in Shivaji Park police station, the assistant deputy commissioner of police Shri. Dnyaneshwar Phadatare informed that the permission was granted to the function.
