Magha Shukla paksha 13, Kaliyug Varsh 5116

Issue of scam by Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti (PMDS)

Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : Action Committee has been set up against malpractices of Shri Mahalakshmi Devasthan, which is under the control of PMDS. Other Hindu organizations viz. Hindu Ekata Andolan, Shri Shivapratishthan, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishada, Warakari Sampradaya, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Sanatan Sanstha and others have joined the movement.

It is also receiving very good response from devotees of Goddess Mahalakshmi. The issue has been explained to people through different modes like handbills, corner-meetings, meetings with office bearers of other organizations, road-shows and 11 lakh people have thus been covered. 275 rickshaw-drivers have displayed posters on their vehicles without charging anything. They have also extended support to Action Committee fighting against corruption and promised to join the protest march on 2nd February.

Propagation was done even this manner…..!

1. Many devotees and ‘jidnyasus’ gathered at Kaneri Mutt during ‘Bharateeya Sanskruti Darshan’ program were explained about this issue. Handbills were also distributed there. Meetings with small groups were held creating awareness.

2. The issue was explained on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti to 500 people gathered at ‘Sarvasakshi Ganesh Mitra Mandal’ and to about 400 people attending Ganesha Jayanti festivals to other devotees besides different Ganesh Mandals viz. Shri. Siddhivinayak Mandir, Mitraprema Ganeshotsava Mandal, Kapilteertha, Uttareshwar Peth Ganesh Mandal, Shukrawar Peth etc.

Special drives

1. Awareness was created in 25 villages by Hindu Ekata Andolan, Bajarang Dal and Sree Shiva-pratishthan towards malpractices of Devasthan Samiti.

2. More than 40 meetings were held with local devout Hindus and ‘jidnyasus’ in different villages.

3. Local 22 organizations from Unchgaon (Dist. Kolhapur) have extended support to the protest march.

4. The Principal of Shahaji Vidhi College read the handbill on malpractices of Devasthan and said that he would put it up on the notice board of the college. He also advised to explain the subject in detail to students of the college and 2 students’ representatives from Bar Council if Devasthan Committee was really involved in malpractices so that the students’ representatives would definitely help and even 100 students would join the march.

Whatever you advise us to do, we will do it ! – Spontaneous response of devotees of Shri. Mahalakshmi Devi

The Action Committee is, in fact, doing what we wanted to do by exposing corruption. Now whatever the Committee advises, we shall do it very happily, was the response of representatives of many organizations, Hindutva-vadis and Devi-devotees.
