MLA Shri. Eknath Shinde visited FACT Exhibition Diva, Thane

Thane (Maharashtra): An exhibition of the pictures produced by ‘FACT’ (Foundation Against Continuing Terrorism) comprising of ‘Frightful truth of terrorism’ has been organised by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti in ‘Diva Mahotsav 2007’, organised by the  Shivsena’s Diva section from December 27 to 30 between 4pm and 10pm. Shivsena’s MLA and the head of Thane District, Shri. Eknath Shinde and the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Sou. Smita Indulkar paid a visit to the said exhibition today.

The local corporator and the section-head Shri Ramakant Madhvi gave his valuable support while organising this exhibition. He only inaugurated this exhibition by offering garland to Shri ganesh and  breaking a coconut. Shri. Madhavi was then offered a flower, a video cassette, ‘Panoon Kashmir’ and a book called ‘Kashmirchi Samasya’ by the Samiti.

‘Shri. Eknath Shinde inaugurated the ‘Diva Mahotsav 2007’ by cutting a ribbon, lighting a candle, offering a garland to the idol of Shri Ganesh and breaking a coconut. (According to Hindu Scriptures for any inaugural function instead of using raj-tam predominant candle a sattva predominant ghee-lamp (kayapanji) should be used to light the wicks. – Editor) Religious procession of varkaris (A religious sect in Hindu religion) glorifying the deity Shri vitthal by chanting His name reached the venue that time. Shri. Ramesh Vaiti, Head of Thane city, Shri.Rajan Kine, the Chairman of the local committee, Shri. Umesh Bhagat, the organiser of Diva-subdivision and other officers were present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering MLA Shri Shinde expressed his thanks for the assistance provided by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti and Prajapita Brahmakumari for the Mahotsav. He also wished success to the Mahotsav and praised Shri. Madhvi for improving the local conditions in Diva.
