Hindus need to shed tolerant attitude ! – Dr.Shevde

Navi Mumbai: As the Hindu is tolerant by temperament, anyone comes and utters any nonsense about our religion. To change this condition, first of all, the Hindus need to shed their tolerant attitude. This view was expressed by the speaker Dr. Sachchidanand Shevde. He was speaking on the topic ‘Remembering Revolutionaries’ in the winter lecture series organised by Brahmasanskruti Sanstha at CB Belapur in Navi Mumbai.

Dr. Shevde said, "hen objectionable scenes were shown in the film ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’, the Punjabi brothers vehemently opposed it. But when the great revolutionary Rajguru was shown as a comic character in a play, no one felt anything wrong about it. It is a great tragedy. This is because of lack of interest about our glorious history among the masses. It is a matter of regret that we are not taught through our history when and how our Hindu empire was spread over the entire universe. No one in the Pune city knows that a village Khed in its vicinity has been named ‘Rajgurunagar’.  One can well imagine what would be the future of the country that has forgotten its history.”

Dr. Shevde further said, “Gandhiji honoured Abdul Rashid who assassinated Swami Shradhdhanand by calling him ‘Bhai’ Abdul Rashid. The Swami was assassinated by Rashid because he readmitted in Hindu fold 12000 Hindus who were falsely converted. One Hasan Neejam had also created spate of conversions. The conversions could not be stopped unless he was killed.  So Rajguru took a garb of a beggar and made an unsuccessful attempt to kill him.
