Action committee sounds clarion against malpractices by Sri Mahalakshmi Devasthan Samiti

Hindus need to realize the adverse effects of Govt. managing temples and try to insist for handing over management of temples to devotees !

Other pro-Hindu organizations should, like HJS, get information under RTI and expose malpractices !

Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : The western Maharashtra Devasthan Management Committee has control over 3067 Devasthans (temples) from 3 districts viz. Kolhapur, Sangli and Sindhudurg including the world-renowned Sri Mahalakshmi Temple and Sri Jyotiba Devalaya. This committee has been involved in misappropriation of funds to the tune of hundreds of billions of rupees which was exposed by Hindu Vidhidnya Parishada (HVP) on 12th January during a press conference held at Shahu Smarak Bhavan. The information obtained under RTI (Right to information) Act was published by Shri. Veerendra Ichalkaranjikar,  advocate practicing in Mumbai High Court and the President of HVP. The scams and corruption in managing various Devasthanas are of serious nature and the temples management committees should be immediately freed from Government’s control; punishing the concerned corrupt people involved in malpractices. State-wide agitation will be staged soon and it was appealed that organizations with similar ideologies and devotees should join the same. Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Maharashtra made above disclosures in the press conference. The other eminent personalities present on the occasion were Shri. Sambhaji Salunkhe, District-Chief of Bajarang Dal, its city-Chief Shri. Mahesh Ursal, Shri. Chandrakant Barale, District-President of ‘Hindu Ekata Andolan’, advocate Shri. Ranajit Singh Ghatge and Shri. Madhukar Nazare of HJS.
