Kalam promises action against Husain.

April 7th, Bangalore – The President Shri. APJ Abdul Kalam attended the Karnataka High Court Golden Jubilee Celebrations. During his visit the President met members of the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti & assured that prompt action would be taken against the notorious painter MF Husain (who has been charged by the court with offences against him for painting Hindu Deities & Bharat Mata in the nude). The Government had not responded to the protest letters & the complaints registered in various police stations across various states, Shri. Kalam acknowledged that he was aware of the entire situation & assured that proper investigation would be carried out.
