Marathi play ‘Yada Kadachit’ staged under tight police security

Santosh Pawar was staged under tight security. Many Hindu organizations staged silent demonstrations outside the theatre under flag of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). </p> <p>In this play, many incidents taken from Ramayana and Mahabharata have been ridiculed and twisted. There is distortion of even revered characters from the epics. Devout Hindus feel that it is an attempt to pull up faith, manifest and un-manifest, from Hindu minds by creating confusion. A representation was given to Kudal Police Suprintendent for not staging show of the said play; but no action was taken against it. </p> <p>A notice was therefore, served by Shri. Shivaram Samant, a member of HJS through his advocate against the police superintendent, organizers of the play and owner of the theatre. No heed was, however, paid to the notice and the play was staged under police protection. </p> <p>After the notice was served, police held discussions with members of HJS and the organizers and producers of the play. Devout Hindus from RSS, HJS, Suvinay Damale, a Vaidya and member of ‘Das-bodh’ Mandal explained to them about the denigration issue and demanded to cancel the show; but police did not take cognizance and under their protection, the play was staged. Devout Hindus also carried on with their plan of holding demonstrations. They were displaying various hoardings against the anti-Hindu play. </p> <p><strong>Editor’s  Note</strong></p> <p>We protest against the police for providing security to the presenters of the play who have made mockery of Hindu deities and Holy Scriptures. Impotent Hindus are responsible for such denigrations. Had such complaint been received from a Muslim, would police react in this manner? What else is expected in anti-Hindu Congress regime Government planning to destroy ‘Ram-setu’ and no action is taken against M F Hussain for drawing denigrating, indecent pictures of Hindu deities?
