‘Mahila Shaurya Prashikshan Shibir’ held in Vile Parle, Nerul and Thane

Organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on the occasion of International Women’s Day

Mumbai – On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised ‘Mahila Shaurya Prashikshan Shibir’ for women in Vile Parle, Nerul and Thane. These camps went beyond theoretical guidance, offering practical training in self-defence techniques. Experienced trainers from the Samiti provided hands-on instruction to the participating women. Demonstrations and training sessions covered karate, lathi-kathi (stick fighting), and dand-sakhali, with participants actively learning and practising these techniques.

Participants shared that the camp provided far more than just information. It helped them gain deeper insight into key aspects of their lives, including their responsibilities toward society, their personal strengths and limitations, essential safety precautions, and practical steps they could take in real-life situations. Many women reported significant benefits from attending these camps.

Awaken the Durga within yourself – Prashant Surve

Women must draw inspiration from the ideals of Rajmata Jijau, Rani Lakshmibai, and Rani Chennamma. Never regard yourselves as weak. Awaken the inner Durga within you through Dharmashikshan, master self-defence, and prepare yourselves to confront any crisis with courage and strength.

Nerul

Be empowered at the physical, mental and spiritual levels! – Smt. Pravina Patil

We are truly fortunate to be born in Bharat, where not only is equality between men and women upheld, but women are revered as Shakti-swarupini (embodiments of divine power). Regrettably, many women today have lost touch with the Durga-tattva within themselves, and jihadis are exploiting this vulnerability. To counter this effectively, women must awaken and strengthen themselves at the physical, mental, and spiritual levels.

Self-defence training is the need of the hour – Hemant Pujare

Law enforcement alone cannot always ensure women’s safety. No one can provide round-the-clock protection in society. Equipping oneself with self-defence skills is therefore essential and urgent for every woman today.

Snapshots
