Angry Hindus protest and vandalise the houses of the accused

Delhi – In Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, a group of religious fanatics attacked a Hindu family after a minor incident of coloured water from a water-balloon accidentally splashed on a Muslim woman. During the assault, a Hindu youth Tarun Kumar was beaten to death and six others were injured. The incident occurred in ‘A Block’ of the J.J. Colony in Uttam Nagar. Following the incident, angry Hindus staged protests and set fire to vehicles belonging to the accused.
On the day of Holi, coloured water from a water balloon thrown by a 11-year-old girl on the street splashed onto a Muslim woman from a neighbouring family, which led to a dispute. The girl and her family apologised to the woman, explaining that the balloon had not been thrown intentionally but had slipped from her hand by mistake.
However, later, at around 11 p.m., a group of around 15 to 20 fanatics attacked the Hindu family.
The primary victim, 25-year-old Tarun Kumar, suffered severe injuries, including head trauma and blows from a heavy stone slab. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Several other family members were injured in the assault, and the violence caused damage in the locality, including broken windowpanes of nearby houses.
Following his death, grief and anger spread throughout the area.
Angry Hindus set vehicles of the accused on fire
After the incident, angry Hindus staged protests. On 6 March, they gathered outside the house of the accused and vandalised the property. Four-wheelers and two-wheelers parked outside the house were set on fire.
Activists of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad blocked roads while protesting and demanded strict action against the accused fanatics.
